I tried to install WordPress and now my website doesn’t work

Hi there. What directory was it in before you moved it?

I’m not really sure. I am so confused now… 🙁

I am using Cpanel. I removed the wordpress files but the site is still not rendering. Cpanel won’t restore and wordpress won’t install

I’m getting this message from Cpanel

Site Software
Error: The system could not run the “/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/php” install script and received the error code “1”: Error: The ‘wp-config.php’ file already exists.

Warning: The installation failed, but you can attempt to complete the installation manually. Review the error messages for more details. Your website may not function as intended until you correct the errors.

This is a page from your site before WordPress, right? http://www.beacondefault.com/about-us/

It looks like the majority of your website/links are pointing to the old website.

I know it can be incredibly frustrating, but no worries, almost everything is fixable!

Could you take a moment to sit down and think about all the steps you took to get the website to not function as intended?

Warm regards!

I think I really just need someone to do this for me. How do I find a person to complete the installation?

@bdmhost you could make a post on https://jobs.wordpress.net, or look for WordPress developers as you would look for any other freelancer or worker on the web 🙂

Warm regards!

@bdmhost You could take a look at this. This is a step by step guide to move a WordPress site.

Let me know if it helped.

It looks like your old site still runs, but your home page(index.php) is not loading. So Just make sure all the files of your site is together then try these steps from this above link if you want.
