After 3 days and numerous wormholes, I am hoping someone here can help me gain access to my wp-admin website. I am pretty new to this so please be gentle.
I currently do not have access to my wp-admin or wp-login.php.
When I go these sites, I get an error:
This site can’t provide a secure connection: ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
All of the trouble started when I added Cloudflare’s free SSL, but didn’t activate the appropriate plug-in on the WP side. After changing the domain nameservers on Cloudflare’s site, I was able to initially gain access, but I believe that had to do with waiting for the updates. I also initiated a website reset at the same time.
I have spoken with Cloudflare and GoDaddy support. They both directed me back to WP.
I tried downloading Filezilla and accessing via FTP, but this is a new world to me.
Filezilla is also telling me there is an error: Connection timed our after 20 seconds. Could not connect to the server.
My immediate issue is how do I get access to my website via FTP.
My bigger issue is how to I fix the plug-in/SSL Protocol Error so that I can re-gain control of my website.
